Hi, this is Linda Mandelbaum, and today we're going to take a look at why cereals are so popular. There are three reasons why cereals are popular; convenience, sugar fix and advertising. It's important to make sure when you read the label that you have whole grains because whole grains are an excellent source of fiber, iron, B Vitamins and you really, that's, that's what's going to keep you full and satisfied. So, I like to tell people that when they want to have cereal which is a wonderful way to start your day, they want to make sure that they look at the label. You want to see at least 16 grams of whole grains, and this should be, this must be the first ingredient. You want to have less than 10 grams of sugar and three or more grams, grams of fiber, and very very important, free of all dyes and artificial colors. And after that, you can enjoy a wonderful bowl of cereal and you can top it with anything you want; I have some bananas here, some apples, some nuts and some dried fruit with some cinnamon; by using good milk, it's a wonderful healthy breakfast.
