I'm Morris Brossette, and this is guidelines on replacing walking shoes. Okay guys, there is a lot of information on how long shoes actually last. I'm going to give you one simple trick and tip that will make it simple and easy so you will know exactly when to replace your shoes. As soon as I purchase my shoe, when I get home, I'm going to take a permanent marker and on the tongue of the shoe on the underside I'm going to write down the date of purchase. So for example today is December 19, 2013, I'll put a 12-19-13 in the tongue of the shoe. I put it in the tongue because that's where my foot is not going to rub as much so that number I know will stay there with that permanent marker. So all I do is at that six month mark I know it's time to replace the shoe. We know that because research has shown that if you are walking at least three days a week for 30 minutes or more, the average life span of a shoe is roughly six months. So just to make sure and to avoid injury at that six month mark, that's when you know to replace your shoe.
