Hi, my name is Leif Becker. And today we're talking about leg strengthening techniques in the martial arts. There's various ways to increase strength through our legs in the martial arts. Of course any time you are looking to condition strength we have to talk about resistance. Resistance will ultimately build that strength and deliver a more powerful technique. When developing your strength in the martial arts there's nothing better then picking up a universal resistance band to help you develop those kicks, build the strength. And also to continue to develop the flexibility in the kicks that you're generating. Here I have a universal resistance band. And you can see as I go through these kicks I'll work to resist the leg and develop that strength. As well as to continue to keep the flexibility. Another way to develop the strength within your legs in the martial arts is of course to use a heavy bag. And it's all about repetition, repetition, repetition. One right after the other. Ultimately you will be sustaining that power and moving it through the target time after that time. Generating as much energy as possible onto the bag.
