Hi, my name's Leif Becker, and today we're going to be speaking about karate techniques on a martial arts bag. It's important to understand how to use a martial arts bag for various reasons. One's of course distance, we want to make sure that we have the right target area as well as understanding control. Creating exercises with a martial arts bag has various important reasons. One of course is that we want to understand the distance between ourselves and the target area. The second thing is understanding those actual target points, we have high, we have medium and we have low, and utilizing those against an opponent. the third thing is understanding control. Not always will you be using a martial arts bag, at times we're working with a partner, and the bag is a great way to understand how to efficiently deliver those techniques. Now beginners can start out with basic techniques, such as a single punch, or a single kick. As you move to those intermediate levels, you'll put these techniques together utilizing varied punches and kicks, developing the strength, condition and control to it all. One, two, three and four. In addition to distance and control, the student also has an opportunity to work on developing that power. The power that looking to generate towards an opponent. So from here not only are we working on our strikes, but we can come in with full power.
