I am Sifu Karl Romain, and this is how to strengthen your hand muscles. You'll notice that when you're carrying heavy bags or suitcases that your hands get tired. Learning these techniques will help you to improve your endurance in your hands and not succumb to fatigue. Our first technique for strengthening the hands will be crumpling newspaper. To begin, you'll start from your standing position with your arms extended out. You'll want a full newspaper, and you're gripping them with your fingertips, your thumb and your finger. From here you're gonna start to use all your fingers, developing finger dexterity, rolling the paper around in your hand until it crumples to the point where you can't see it in your fist. Our second exercise is called fly catchers, and we'll start with your hands down at your side. To begin, you'll open and close the hands. This is very important that you extend the fingers, and then when you close the hand, wrap that thumb around. You'll do this from the sides of the body, raise your arms up so they're parallel to the ground, then over the head, then in front of the body and right back down. Each time you do this you'll open and close the hands for 10 repetitions.
