I'm Sara Holliday, and I'm going to talk to you about how to stop sliding in yoga. If you slide in yoga, it can potentially lead to injury and I'm going to give you a few simple tips so that you avoid sliding in your yoga practice. I have three tips for you to help prevent you from sliding on your yoga mat. The first tip is to invest in a good yoga mat. There are lots of yoga mats out there. It depends on the type of thickness that you want in your mat or how long you want your mat. Find a mat that suits exactly what you want but don't be afraid to invest a little money in your yoga mat. The second one is to keep your mat clean. If our mat isn't clean, we get bacteria buildup and that causes slipping. So what I do is I do a little solution of water with tea tree essential oil. I just put a few drops in my water and then I just squirt it down once a week and then I dry it out in the sun. The third tip is if you do hot yoga, I highly recommend investing in a yoga towel. The yoga towel has these little rubber balls on there which stick to the mat and will prevent you from slipping. You simply put your towel over your mat just like this, and the sweatier your hands become the more you will stay put on your yoga mat.
