Hey, everybody, I'm Chef Mareya, The Fit Foodie. Today, I'm going to show you how to make a whole grain dessert. Now the benefit of using a whole grain and today, I'm going to be using couscous, is you get the added fiber and minerals from that whole grain. Which you might not get with other unhealthy choices. So, today I'm going to use couscous, I also have some slivered almonds, some raisins, some unsweetened shredded coconut and a little bit of almond milk. And then, I'm going to add a little pizzazz, my own little spin here, with pure vanilla extract, some cinnamon and monk fruit extract. Which maybe you've never heard of, but it's a no calorie sweetener that's all natural. How much do we love that? We get the sweetness without the calories, you've got to love it. So I'm going to show you how to assemble this. First you cook the couscous. And I've got my organic couscous here. And all you do is you boil water, add your couscous and then, turn of the heat. And within five minutes your couscous will be ready, simple as that. I take my couscous and I'll add my almond milk. And I'm using an unsweetened almond milk to just keep my sugar in check. After that, I'm going to top it off with my slivered almonds, my raisins and my unsweetened shredded coconut. And then, I'm going to add a little bit, about a teaspoon of my pure vanilla extract. Make sure you get the pure vanilla, so that you don't get any artificial flavors in there. And then, a little bit of cinnamon and about a teaspoon of that monk fruit extract. You can assemble this is pretty, little glass cups and top it off with a sprinkle of cinnamon. They look gorgeous and elegant, so nice, you could serve them at a dinner party. Or you can even enjoy this dish warm as an alternative to breakfast cereal. You've got your whole grains, you've got your really good quality protein with the nuts. You've got your fatty acids, good fatty acids with your coconut and just a whole lot of flavor in that little cup. So, I hope you try this whole grain dessert. I'm Chef Mareya, The Fit Foodie.
