Hey, everybody. I'm Chef Mareya, the Fit Foodie, and I'm here to tell you today that eating healthy can taste good. I don't know what's happened over the last few years, where the word healthy has come to mean not tasting good. I want to change your perspective. Let's take a typical dish like chili, okay, chili can be very fatty with fatty cuts of meat, a lot of heavy flavors or it can take a much lighter approach like what I'm going to show you how to do today. So instead of those heavy meats I'm using ground turkey, lean ground turkey and I've added in some onion and some fresh garlic, delicious. Then I'm going to also take some quinoa. Quinoa is a super grain. It's high in protein and it's going to help that much more nutrient content to our chili. I have also got a bean medley here. I've got six different beans combined. So we're adding good quality protein and vegetables. My chili is full of fresh vegetables. I've got kale, one of the most nutrient dense foods on the planet. I've got some carrots and then I've got my spices and with the spices you don't need to add any extra fat. I've got some cinnamon, some chili pepper, a little bit of red pepper and I've also got some low salt, that's a reduced sodium salt for us and then I've got a little bit of coconut oil. That's sort of my secret weapon. Coconut oil is a great source of essential fatty acids and it's going to give our chili a beautiful beautiful flavor. Put that in the Crock-Pot, in the morning before you go to work and come home and dinner will be ready for you. So don't tell me that you don't have time to cook, you can assemble all that in a Crock-Pot and have it ready for when you come home. The bottom line is eating healthy can taste great, it's all about the ingredients and the love that you put into it. I'm Chef Mareya, the Fit Foodie, hope you try this recipe and make sure to watch all my other videos on how to eat cleaner every day.
