Hi, I'm Danielle Wechsler. We are here at East Coast Conditioning Center and this is how to do a handstand walkover. To master a handstand walkover you want to first focus on strengthening your core because that's your powerhouse, and then working that back flexibility. Now for the handstand walkover we want to first focus on strengthening your core. The best exercise for strengthening your core is a plank hold. For this position, you want to start in a pushup position with your shoulders over your wrist, core tight body in line. You want to squeeze your abs are engaged and just hold this position for 30 to 60 seconds. Do this exercise for three reps, try to do it at least three times a week. Another exercise to improve your back flexibility is a bridge. You want to lay on the floor and push up through the bridge. For this exercise you want to focus on pushing through your shoulders and straightening your legs, feeling that arch and stretching your back. Now when you're ready for that handstand walkover, let's get started with one foot in front of the other, pushup to handstand position keeping your legs separate. As you land, you want to focus with one leg above the other and push through your shoulders focusing on squeezing your core to really bring yourself up to that standing position.
