Hi, I'm Rick Coe, and today I'm going to show you how to do ankle crossover exercises. So there's many effective ways to isolate your adductor muscles when doing this movement but today I'm going to show you how to do it on a functional trainer with an ankle strap. When performing an ankle crossover using a functional trainer, get yourself an ankle strap. I'm going to start with my left leg so I want to hook the ankle strap down by my foot. Holding on to the functional trainer for support, I'm going to left my exercise leg slightly off the ground so I have freedom of movement and I'm going to simply pull my left foot in front of my right. If I find I do not have enough slack to let my foot go all the way, then I will take a further step away from the machine. Now I can get a little more tension as I come back to neutral position. This exercise is a little time consuming in the set up so you want to get about 10 to 15 reps per leg before you switch.
