Hi, I'm Kara Miller, the Lifestylista, and today, I'm gonna talk to you about the importance of the triglycerides to HDL ratio. Heart attacks are the biggest killer in the United States of America. And, we used to think, oh, total level of cholesterol, that's the indicator. That will tell us whether or not you're gonna get heart disease. It's this ratio that is the most crucial indicator. One study showed that the people with the highest ratio were 16 times more likely to get a heart attack than people with the lowest ratio. How do you reduce this ratio? First, you change your diet, so you reduce your insulin levels. You reduce your insulin levels, you reduce your triglyceride levels. So, more protein in the diet, more fibrous green, leafy vegetables, more complex carbohydrates, and less of the sugar simple foods, like the high fructose corn syrup, or the cakes, or the chocolates, or the sodas. Secondly, you really want to take high dose refined, ultra refined fish oil. Talk to your doctor, get the best treatment plan that's specifically for you.
