Hi, I'm Stella Metsovas, and today we are going to talk about sodium-reducing fruits. It's been noted that American consumers are very much interested in the sodium contents found in our foods. Excess sodium in the diet has been linked to severe health consequences like high blood pressure, dehydration and digestive issues. Unfortunately you can't magically just flush sodium out of the body. You need to make sure your diet is filled with quality minerals found in all those unprocessed, life promoting foods that I often talk about. Think like the ancestral Mediterranean diet. If you are interested in how to help avoid excess sodium in the body, not magically flush it out, I recommend the following fruits that are naturally high in the synergy of minerals like potassium and magnesium. Remember, the heavier the fruit, the more water you are going to have and more water equals higher minerals. Apples, watermelon, pears, bananas, oh oh and stay far away from canned fruits because they are mostly processed overheated junk anyway. Careful not to overdo fruits, two servings maximum for most people. Please don't overdo the fruit intake.
