Now as you probably know from watching all my video series I'm a huge advocate and devotee of research in digestive health, the Mediterranean diet and epigenetics. Fruits are a prized ingredients because they are filled with nutrients like vitamins, and minerals, fiber, and polyphenols. First and foremost we need to make sure our fruits are always in season and are local for optimal benefits. Most fruits contain equally balanced amounts of nutrients but it's the way they're harvested and grown that truly matters most. Using seasonal varieties and fruits that are local can literally boost the quality of antioxidants like bioflavinoids because who wants their fruits sitting in a warehouse for a week or two. If you don't have access to seasonal, local fruit which is rare. I mean most of us do. Continue having at least one to two servings of season fruit. Or you might want to consider adding frozen berries like raspberries, black berries, and blueberries to your diet.
