Hi, I'm Martin Egwuagu of Nedufitness.com. So, how do you turn while jumping rope? Well, why would you want to do that? Well, the reason why I do it is because it helps improve my hand-eye coordination and my footwork. So, maybe you'll get the same benefit. So, for starters, here's what we do. You take the jump rope with each hand, and then you're going to jump forward -- practice jumping forward. Second, you got to be able to jump backwards by rotating the jump rope backwards. So, once you've mastered those two movements, there's a third one. You got to be able to jump rope side to side -- that means swinging the jump rope left, right, left, and right. So, let me show you the 180 degree turn. So, you start off jumping forward. On the second jump, I want you to bring both hands out to the side with the jump rope, and as you bring it out to the side, you turn your body 180 degrees, and then you jump backwards. In the backwards stand, here's what I want you to do: You're going to swing the jump rope backwards. On the second movement, I want you to swing your arms above your head. And, as your arms go up above your head, again, jump 180 degrees. Turn your body, and now it's forward. It's just like that. So, now once you've mastered those movements, you can show off in the gym. Again, I'm Martin Egwuagu of Nedufitness.com, and that's how to turn while jumping rope.
