Hi, I'm Nick Webster, and I'm here to answer the question how to save chip shots in soccer. The reason we want to be able to save chip shots is because as a goalkeeper you are constantly having to readjust. Sometimes though you are going to find yourself off of your line and if strikes are good they are going to try and chip you. Here are a couple of drills that could help you save chip shots in soccer. There's a number of different techniques we can use for saving chip shots. Number one have the goalkeeper advance five yards out of the goal, tap the ball and then throw the ball up over his head to try and get it underneath the bar. He's going to use his top hand to palm the ball over the crossbar. Number two, have the goalkeeper lay on his stomach. Once again he comes out to touch the ball and then backtracks to try and put the ball over the bar with his palm again. Using these two drills, the goalkeeper should become much better at saving chip shots.
