Hi, my name is Kari Pearce, and I'm a personal trainer at The New York Health and Racquet Club. This video is on how to develop a wellness challenge. A wellness challenge can be a fun motivating way for people to get in better shape while working out with their peers. There are many different ways wellness challenges can be developed. One example is using a pedometer. Another could be the minutes spent working out during the week. Another can be healthy eating choices. The options are endless. For using a pedometer, there can be a designated number of steps that each member must take per day or you can have a winner whoever takes the most steps in say a week. Another wellness challenge that you could have is minutes exercised per day or per week. You can have each member work out for three hours a week. The time spent can be half hours at a time, it can be an hour at a time or even three hours at one time, just making sure that everybody gets in the right amount of working out. Another way that you can develop a wellness challenge is by weight loss or percentage body fat loss. Wellness challenges can be done in groups or individuals for themselves. You can always have a small reward at the end too which is extra motivation for each individual.
