Hi, I'm Matthew Lee Willis and this is how to bail out of a backflip. Backflips can be scary, especially when done by yourself. After learning from a professional, you're going to be doing this by yourself. Sometimes you're going to bail, so I'm going to show you a couple of things that you can do to make sure that you don't get injured while bailing on a backflip. That key point that you need is to make sure to keep rotating. A lot of times it gets really scary when going out for that backflip. Make sure that always to keep rotating to that backflip, even if you don't get very high off the ground. That's very important. That second key point is doing a break fall. When you jump up and land, make sure your body is flat, your chin is tucked and that hand slips down to the ground. That's really important because sometimes we don't get a rotation and we end up falling on our back.
