I'm Morris Brossette and this is how to become a novice runner. Okay so the very first thing you need to do before you start running is to get a heart rate test to establish where your aerobic training zones are. Often times people make the mistake of just going out and running and they run too fast. And they are not being aerobic. So get your heart rate test first, establish those zones ok. The next thing you need to do is I encourage you to start running three days a week. And you would do that like a Monday, a Wednesday and then a Saturday to give you just a little bit a extra rest. Now you want to start slow so we start you out with running 20 minutes each time. And in that 20 minutes you are not going to run the whole duration. You are going to start by running two minutes at a time and then walking for one minute. I would do that for the whole first week. And then the second week I'll just progress it up by one minute increments. So I still keep the total time of 20 minutes but I'll run for three minutes, walk for one. Then the next week I'll run for four minutes and walk for one. All the way up till I'm running the whole duration of the 20 minutes. Then I'll increase the time of the run. That's the safest way for you to become a novice runner.
