I'm going to tell you a little bit about a basic part of skateboard ability and that's pushing off. To push off on a skateboard always keep your front foot over the bolts and keep your back foot on the pavement. Push forward then replace your back foot to the board and ride away. The major mistake you see with beginners skaters is that their pushing leg will often times be at an angle, your leg should be completely parallel to the board leg. It should be completely perpendicular to the ground. A good way to practice pushing balance is to practice standing with one foot on the board and one foot off and shift your weight lift up your back foot and try to balance on one foot. Once you have balancing on one foot down, then you can combine pushing and balancing on one foot. Eventually this will set you up for replacing the back foot back onto the board, let's try a simple push. Front foot towards the front bolts back foot flatly on the ground parallel with the foot on the board and perpendicular to the ground. Push off return the leg. Remember after you push off to return your pushing foot back to the same stance you would anytime your riding. Most importantly never let your leg bend at an angle to get back on your balance. If you are not balanced, step off and try again. In order to get more strength and power out of your pushing, then you are pushing leg higher and push further. Now let's try a stronger push, the same distance. Lifting your leg higher and higher causes more force with your foot against the ground and makes you go faster, keep practicing and you'll be pushing your way to fun with skateboarding.
