ALCIE MERRITT: Now I am going to talk to you about super foods. Super foods are getting a lot of publicity in the media today and that is because they are very vitamin and nutrient packed and they have lots of antioxidants that help prevent against illnesses and disease. Some of the main things that super foods help prevent are things like reducing your risk for coronary heart disease, reducing your risk for cancer, boosting your memory and your mood. Some of these healthy super foods include broccoli, walnuts, salmon, blueberries, beans, tomatoes, spinach, a lot of vegetables, especially your dark and color ones. Adding super foods into your daily diet routine can really help reduce your risk of developing some chronic diseases. So, important things to remember are add these super foods into your meal plans daily. You can put blueberries on your oatmeal, you can add walnuts to your oatmeal, add walnuts to trail mix. It is also great to eat salmon two to three times a week. You can add tomatoes into your sauces, you can add cherry tomatoes to your to your salad, because these foods not only taste great, but they are really wonderful for your health too.
