Angie is currently with the Youth Hockey Foundation of Austin and the Chaparral Ice Center located in Austin TX. A native of Canada, Angie has been playing hockey for nearly 30 years. Angie enjoys instructing children and adults, and is passionate about passing her knowledge of the game on to others. She has lived in Austin for the last ten years.

ANGIE SCHNEIDER: Hi. I am Angie with the Youth Hockey Foundation of Austin. Hockey is a sport that covers all ages. You can start at three and you can stay at it until they put in the ground. It is a fantastic sport that works every muscle in your body, works on your coordination, works on your timing and your balance and it will keep you in shape for years and years and years. But then you have the whole friendship part of it. It is the biggest team sport. Nobody can score unless they use their team and you got to rely on your goalie to save you on those hard games and to put you out there so you can actually win one. It is a fantastic way to get to know yourself, to see how much you can actually do, how hard you can push yourself and see where you are willing to take it. It is also a fantastic sport for getting to know a community of people that continue to share that love of a game that just keeps growing. Without hockey, there will be a lot of kids running around with nothing to do but because of it they have all got something to focus on, a goal they can achieve and as adults something that they continue to share with their families and their friends. It is a great sport and you should come out and try it.
