Franco Peraza is a highly seasoned and versatile Professional Ballroom and Latin Dance Instructor. Originally from Central California, Franco has taught for the Fred Astaire Dance Studio in addition to teaching independently at dance studios from the West to East Coasts. He owned and operated Studio 65 Dance Sport Center for 10 years. Throughout his career, Franco has choreographed and produced in-house shows, in addition to productions for stage, television and film, plus commercials for television and film. Now residing in NYC, Franco continues his passion for teaching at Stepping Out Studios. Simone Assboek has 15 years' experience teaching dance, and has been teaching at Stepping Out Studios, one of New York's most renowned Ballroom dance studios, since 2001. There, she added Hustle, Salsa, Swing and American Style Ballroom to her repertoire. Her passion for dance paved the way for her to perform at such events as the New York City Festival of Dance, and Midsummer Night's Swing at Lincoln Center.

FRANCO PERAZA: Hi, my name is Franco Peraza. SIMONE ASSBOECK: And my name is Simone Assboeck. FRANCO PERAZA: We're both instructors at Stepping Out Studios in New York City. In this clip, we would teach you how to do the exchange in Swing. So whether you're using the single, double or triple rhythms in the Swing family, you have your basic rhythm, your triple and triple, or we do an exchange, where we do a hand change behind the back completed with an inside turn or variations of steps. We also have one where we just do a roll across the belly. You could do a right hand to right hand with an inside turn. Again, it's just a variation. You can do that in any of your rhythms of the Swing family. You can do it in your single, rock step, hand change behind the back. And that basic pattern what's involved a lot is all four limbs are working. Because when we start to work all these limbs, one of the limbs down there that you're standing on sometimes doesn't want to work. So in that respect, it's very good. I mean the mind has to be thinking very quickly, and there is your hand change behind the back. And that is how we do the exchange in Swing.
