JULES HELM: Hello, my name is Jules Helm. TALIA CASTRO-POZO: Hi, my name is Talia Castro-Pozo. JULES HELM: And we're both instructors here at Stepping Out Studios in New York City. Hi, in this clip we're going to learn how to do the "Follower's left turn," which is a step you can do on both Salsa and Mambo. So we're going to start right away. We're going to take it from the follower's point of view so that means you're going to back break on the right foot. So we have our back break. We come forward. Our front break is a preparation or a wind up as I call it. We have a little preparation and then that sends us back the other direction and we finish it on a quick, quick, slow. Doing that again with the forward break. Quick, quick, slow and quick, quick, slow. Good. Now, let's show you how this is done in dance position. We can do this either in our closed position or open position. Looks like this from closed. We have quick, quick, slow, a subtle wind up, quick, quick, slow and quick, quick, slow. Then from a two handhold, quick, quick, slow, again that subtle wind up. How this relates to fitness is when you had any type of turn you're increasing your balance, your coordination and your posture must be in good condition. In other words, you can't be turning if you're slouched. So one more time. And that's how you do a left turn.
