DR. LISA RHODES: Hi, I'm Dr. Lisa Rhodes at Westlake Dermatology & Cosmetic Surgery. Getting a microdermabrasion is a great idea to help exfoliate the top layer of your skin. This can help with anti-aging and also help an acne-prone patients. What I recommend is stop all of your anti-aging or acne medications a few days before you have the microdermabrasion so that you don't get overly irritated by the procedure.
