MELISA BROWN: Hi, my name is Melisa Brown and I'm a licensed massage therapist here in Miami, Florida. I'm with U Need A Massage. In this clip, I'm going to be talking about how to give a foot massage. I've got the foot; I've got the body facing down. That way, I have easier access to the foot. I don't have to be doing it standing in an awkward position. Now, I got the foot over my leg and I'm going to be leaning in and doing a compression to the foot. And I can be doing this with my hand, with my palm, or I can be doing it with my forearm. And I can do rolls. Now, I can also be doing points of the elbow into the bottom of the foot. I can also be twisting. You can overuse your fingers so easily doing the feet. That's why it's recommended that you do any other thing other than your fingers for the feet. If you got tools, use your tools. And I'm always doing compressions. If you're going to be using your thumbs, use your thumbs in a more straight, linear way as opposed to digging down this way because that's going to be definitely indicative of overuse. I'm pressing in and I'm using my body to go in there. I'm not using just my thumbs, and I'm pressing in. There is no particular order or linear way that you need to be going into the foot. You can be going all over the place.
