MELISA BROWN: Hi, my name is Melisa Brown and I'm a licensed massage therapist here in Miami, Florida. I'm with U Need A Massage. In this clip, we're going to talk about preparing for a massage. If you have a table, that's wonderful. It's convenient because all you have to do is dress up the table. What I like to do for my table is usually I have a protectant underneath. It protects your table from the oils if you have too many oils that are going through the sheet. You have a sheet that covers, usually a twin size, and my preference is to have a pareu. These are wonderful because it's light, but then again, I'm in Florida. So it's very, very nice and light, and this is what I'm going to cover my client with. For the face cradle, you can have anything that covers. They have special face cradles that go and they're formed inside the face cradle. I have my oils conveniently located right next to the table. I have a very good ambience, a quiet ambience. I don't want any distractions, no high music, no phones ringing, no major distractions. And I also like to have the client prepared. I want them to be in a mental place where they can receive. I need to be in a mental place where I can give, so everything is in an easier flow
