MELISA BROWN: Hi, my name is Melisa Brown and I'm a licensed massage therapist here in Miami, Florida. I'm with U Need A Massage. In this clip, we're going to talk about how to give a chair massage. A chair massage is wonderful when we don't have a table and we're in an office or in front of a computer at home. I can do compressions going on each side of the spine. I'm going to move myself to the other side and doing each side of the spine. A chair massage is great when you're using the compression. Be careful you don't overextend your wrist. Get yourself in a position were it's a more of a natural curve. I'm doing compressions. I can be doing all types, the petrissage, the kneading - bring yourself up again, please - compressions on top of the shoulder. I can be doing gliding. If I'm turning the head to the side, I can glide with my forearm. There are of course special chair massagers that I'm sure you've seen and those are very specific with chair therapists. If you don't have one, this is great.
