MELISA BROWN: Hi, my name is Melisa Brown and I'm a licensed massage therapist here in Miami, Florida. I'm with U Need A Massage. In this clip, we're going to talk about how to give a scalp massage. It's very simple. This is all we need. We have the tools right here on our hands. Now, I'm not going to have my fingers too tight, too wound up because then we're going to be tired after just a couple of minutes. We're starting on the sides. I'm going to have my fingers in a position where they're not too pointy. They're just relaxed. I'm going in a circular motion, circular motion, circular motion, going all the way up from the ears, maybe working myself all the way up to the crown. Very simple. Shampooing, it's also called shampooing. I can turn the head to the side in this motion, always in a circular motion, and try to keep the same rhythm throughout the whole scalp massage, because otherwise you're just de-stressing the rhythm that you had. Now, you can also do it in lines working your way up or working your way this way. If you want to use your thumb, going in a circular motion; and lines if you want to get more specific that way. Or you can also just do pressure points and working towards the crown. Always gentle, not too hard. You don't want to get too tired.
