MELISA BROWN: Hi, my name is Melisa Brown and I'm a licensed massage therapist here in Miami, Florida. I'm with U Need A Massage. In this clip, we're going to be talking about different types of massage. Different bodies require different types of work. The one that we know the most is the Swedish massage. That's the one with a long, gliding stroke. There are also shiatsu, lomilomi, Thai massage, a deep tissue. A deep tissue requires a lot slower maneuvers and it's a lot deeper. Not many people really like that but other people can really benefit from that. And it's not true that no pain is no gain. Everybody is different; everybody has different tastes. Thai massage, it's wonderful. It's an old ancient formula that they have been using for the last 2,500 years, a lot of stretching. They also call it lazy man's yoga. It's wonderful. Shiatsu, using the thumbs, using the elbows going into specific points, it's very relaxing and it's done on the floor, on the mat, just like Thai massage. Or if you want to go into something a little bit more exotic, how about lomilomi. That's a Hawaiian institute that they've been using for years and years and years. It's a lot of gliding strokes, a lot of oil, and it is very relaxing, very deep. So do the investigating. Find out what it is that you really, really like.
