SAMUEL ROBERTS: Hi, this is Sam Roberts, your field hockey coach. In this segment, we will talk about playing midfield in field hockey. Playing the midfield position in field hockey--in a lot of times, it's called the link of the midfield because we provide a link between the forward line and the defense, and that is the midfield position. In the midfield, again, you have a right midfield, center midfield, left midfield. The center midfield is kind of the controlling person of the game. They set the pace; they set the games; they set the plays. So a lot of times what you find is that the key person, the key control of the game, is established by the center midfield or the center link as well call it. Because again, that person establishes the link between the forward line and the defense.
