YISHAI HOROWITZ: Hello, my name is Yishai. Today we are going to be talking about how to choose trail running equipments. So, first and foremost, I feel the most important thing are your shoes. So, there is some trail running shoes. They differ from regular running shoes and has a little bit more of a knobby sole. Gives you a little more traction. They are also stiffer, right here, so they give you more support while you are running, so you won't twist your ankles as easily. A little heavier duty. It is a little bit more rugged so they will stand up to rocks, trails, things like that. There is different stiffness in trail running shoes. So this shoe right here, you can test it out. Multiple different kinds of socks. I would stay away from the cotton socks which tend to absorb a lot of water, and they can cause blistering on your feet and they get very uncomfortable. So, you can go with a real thin, cycling sock like this. It is made out of a polyester material. It is very breathable as the weave is a--it is a very open weave. You can then also go with something a little bit more padded. I always like to run with a hat, keeps the sun out of your face. There is running hats which are a little lighter weight. They breathe a little bit more. So, you want to look for that, the mesh kind of material. So, if you are going to be going on trail run that is a little longer, might be hot out, might want to run with some water. There is the standard kind of bike bottle. You just fill it up with water, good to go, and there is the camel back type deal, which has a reservoir on the back, right here, and has a little tube that you can drink out of, so, you don't have to stop. You can just stick it to your mouth. I personally like to run with a bottle because I don't like to have something on my back while I'm running. So, there is some energy fooze you can take with you trail running. There is a powdered mixed drink stuff, it is electrolyte sternally. And then there is some bars. So, the bars, they give you a little energy. You want to make sure that your bars don't contain as much sugar as candy bars because sometimes they do. There are a lot of energy bars out there. If you want to record the trail that you did, or just know exactly how far you went, you can check out the GPS device. And this GPS devices they will track your route, and they will give you the milage, they will give your ascend, descend rate. Another important piece of equipment is a watch. Can time how far you've gone, can tell what time it is, can tell if the sun is going to go down soon. It is going to get dark; you are not going to have enough time to get back. So, wear a watch. So if you are going to be running out near the poison oak, check out the poison oak stuff. This will clean it up, really good stuff. There's many different bands of poison oak removal products. So, if you are going to be on the poison oak, definitely use this.
