Alright, now we're going to talk about picking the ball up when it's fallen down. Sometimes in lacrosse, it's never happened to me, but I've heard it's happened to some people, you're cradling and you accidentally drop the ball. So, you've got to learn to pick up the ball. Sometimes the ball gets chucked out of your stick, and it goes someplace. Sometimes you don't get a pass, once again, never happened to me, but people I know. You're going to have to learn how to scoop up these balls so you can regain possession, or, get it from the other team. So, when you scoop, you first, don't run like this with your stick when you don't have the ball in it, it's not necessary. You put the stick down to your side, and you run to get close to the ball. As you get close to it, you're going to want to step right beside it, get down low so your stick is parallel to the ground, and you're going to want to scoop. It's really important that you get down low, because if you do this, sometimes you'll hit short and you'll trip yourself. Sometimes you won't be able to get it up all the way, you'll drop it, all sorts of things. You really have to use your quads and get down there and pick up the ball. And that's how you're going to win it. If you do mess it up a couple of times and still get possession, even though you messed it up a couple of times, it's not really worth you. You wasted energy, you wasted time. If you could have just gotten down and done it right away, it would have been better. So, that's how you scoop the ball.
