Memorization skills are very important for your child in all aspects of their life, so you can start very early by playing games of memory or by just talking about, did you remember when, did you remember when. Ask the child what did they have for breakfast, what did they have for lunch? Have them to start thinking about those things. You may play other games of memory. Some people like to play the game of match, where a child turns over two cards and if those cards match, then they get keep those cards. Oop, those cards don't match because one's black and one is purple, so we would turn those cards over and we would continue, and remember where those colors are for our next match. Another thing is the Simon game; it's a wonderful game for memory. There are many different levels of Simon that you can play, even with toddlers. Playing the memory game is a very fun thing to do. You can also play the game about, "I went to the grocery store and I bought an apple." The next person can say, "I went to the grocery store and I bought and apple and a banana." The next person can say, "I went to the grocery store and I bought an apple and a banana, and some cheap cheese." So remember, when you're playing a memory game, make sure that you are keeping track of what's going on, make it fun, it's not only good for the child, it's good for the parents as well.
