The best way to use the internet with your child is to actually be there with them, not just tell them how to use it but to be there with them so you can get some insight as to how your child actually searches for what they are interested in, how they can explore their own interest. It is also a really good way to help them learn which sites are appropriate and which sites are not appropriate. It is a lot easier just to point to the screen and say this is inappropriate than it is to give a child a list of rules and regulations, red flags and things like that. So it is a really good idea to be there with your child surfing the internet and it is also a great way to bond with your child too.
