DEL WARREN: Wow! Look at all these bowling balls. How do you choose a bowling ball? Can be quite confusing, 15, 20 years ago, there certainly weren't as many choices there are today, because there wasn't much as technology in the bowling ball, as there is today. Today, they use computers to design the balls, they have resin companies like BSF and BEAR, actually designed the cover stock or the tire on a bowling ball. So, there is a lot of technology that goes in there, so therefore, how the consumer chooses a bowling ball, is very, very important. What we have here, for example is what's inside the ball? These is two examples of what cores look like. And each one of this cores, as you can see, they look very, very different. This is the engine of the bowling ball. This is what that creates imbalance, and also helps create motion as the ball is going down the lane. And so every core is a little bit different, and manufactures have different specification on these cores, and they all have numbers, and they all have ratings, and used properly can greatly enhance your game, used improperly, again it can actually hurt your score. The second thing we look at is the cover stock or the tires I've mentioned. Today, bowling balls are predominantly made in urethane, or what we call reactive resin, and there is a lot of different variation of that cover stock, every manufacturer has their own supplier and they all have a different characteristic. Again a lot of different choices, and then, you know thirdly we have the polyester ball which is predominantly used for spares. It is what your house balls are made out of. They can do a lot of cool things like putting logos on bowling balls, put funny faces, put characters. Great for the kids, and also great to make spares. So again, that is the technology behind the bowling balls, but in order to get into it fully on how you choose a bowling ball, I would really rely on your pro-shop operator and your coach to help you make that selection based on what skill level you are at, based on where you bowl, how often do you bowl, and what your budget is, because these can be quite costly. So, take my tips, take advice, do as much research as you can, but most importantly, find a great pro-shop that can help you with your game, and help simplify this, and again, you are really enjoy the game much better.
