BOB HUNT: Okay, the third and last one is what we call a hit and drop. Now, let us say your opponent is playing way back in his court, and because you've been hitting it hard back in the back of his court, well what you want to do is you want to serve, so that the birdie or the shuttlecock, goes up and then drops right on the other side of the net. Now, this is a finesse shot and it takes a lot of practice, but once you get good at it, it really serves a great purpose depending on where your opponent's at in his court. It is done something like this, and it takes a lot of finesse, but you want to take the two steps again, you want to be parallel to the net, and when you hit it, you actually want to hit it so that you are coming across the birdie, such as this. So, instead of hitting it straight on or straight for a line shot, you actually want to twist on your racket, boom, so that you are actually twisting across the racket. Now, I'm going to give you an example of this, and--but this does take a lot of practice, but again it is a great opportunity to score a point on your opponent. Two steps parallel to the net and. One more thing about the serve, when serving you want to hold the shuttlecock by the feathers, so that it actually drops, and it drops on to your racket. You don't want to throw it, or anything. So, just simply hold it by the feathers, come back, drop it right onto your racket.
