JEREMY BEUTLER: Hi, this is Jeremy Beutler, offensive line coach with the Austin Wranglers. Today we're going to talk a little bit about pass protection and what we do everyday in practice to get our guys prepared to face defensive lines. First thing is, our guys are going to get in their good stance. We want to make sure we've got good posture here. We're sitting back on our heels, we're not bending on our waist, that's' perfect--all these are perfect examples. Alright, now what we're going to do is we're going to kick slide once. What this is simulating is the defensive lineman coming up on the edge like so, alright? So let's do it. Two kick slides, on one, on one, go! Hut! Alright, good job. Now what we're going to do is we're going to kick slide two times and we're going to pound the post--actually, let's pound the post first guys and show them what pound the post is. Pound the post basically means a defensive end is trying to come underneath on us and we've got to pound the post to get down at that defensive end. So let's pound the post, on one, go! Hut! Good job. Alright, now let's do two kick slides and one pound the post. So what this is going to simulate is the defensive end getting up the field and trying to come back underneath. So we'll do three kick slides and a pound a post, on one, on one, go! Hut! Now you noticed how James had his kick slide and when I tried coming underneath, he pounded the post, that's perfect technique. So let's do that one more without me going, let's go three pound a post--or three kick slides, two pound a post, on one, go! Hut! Good job, perfect.
