DEL WARREN: Well, here we have two of the two basic grips of bowling. The first grip over here is usually for the beginner, or the child, or even someone who has some strength problems. This is the grip that is easiest to hold on to. It is called the conventional grip. It is where the fingers go in to the second knuckle, and the thumb pops on a hole, it is nice and you can see here the fingers that are 90 degrees angle to the top of the hole. Thumb always goes all the way in the hole, not part of the way on the hole, but all in the hole and the hand is nice and relaxed. That is the first type of grip. And then here we have the more advance grip where your finger tip grip. I don't recommend this for little kids, or beginners, the conventional grip works a little bit better, because it's easier to hang on to and it is more controllable. But the finger tip grip adds power, allows you to release the ball and create more hook, and much easier, because number one, the span is longer, because you are only going to put your fingers in to the first joint, okay which creates a wider span, and allows your fingers to be a little bit closer to the bottom of the ball, and that allows you to spin the ball a little bit more.
