BOB HUNT: In this clip, I'm going to talk to you about scoring in badminton. Now, scoring goes to basically 21 points wins. When it gets to a tight game and you get up to 20-20, you have to win by two points. So it would have to be 22 to 20 or 24 to 22 however the game plays out. You'll see as you get to play this game that these matches get very close and so you actually get up to about 20-21 and the games are very close. So you've got to win by two points. Now, as far as scoring, when badminton begins, the server would start from the back line behind the back line which is 22 feet from the net, basically, in the corner or the right side. These got about 10 feet right here to serve from. And basically, he's going to want to serve. This means that the server has an opportunity to score a point. It's the only time in this situation for somebody to score a point. So the server, will then serve from the right side and the object is, is to get it into the right side of the opponent's course. As long as it gets over the net and it gets into his course without getting in the net, hitting the net or going out of bounds, then it's up to that, your opponent, to serve it back to you. If he does that, the rally begins and there's a possibility for only the server to score a point. So let's get started.
