BRANDON SLAY: The first line of defense are my hands, thumb down. But as my opponent moves in to me, my second line of defense is my head. But the only way my head can be a line of defense is it has to be the same height or maybe just a little lower than my opponent. Because if Robert is in a good stance, right here, but my head is up here, my head will never be a line of defense. So again, my head has to be the same height or a little lower than my opponent. If my head is in the way as my opponent goes to attack, attack, attack. If my head is in the way, it is really hard for my opponent to get to my legs. But again, if my head is higher than his, he goes to attack, my head will never be in the way and it would not be a line of defense. So again, for your head to be a line of defense, it has to be connected to your opponent; it has to be in his level. And as he lowers his level to attack, I have to move my head with him so my head is always in the way. Because where my head goes, my body goes.
