There is one particular kind that affects a very particular type of B cell; that is called Hodgkin's disease or Hodgkin's lymphoma. All other lymphomas are known as Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, this includes a variety of different types of lymphoma. If you would like more information on different kinds of Non-Hodgkin's lymphomas please refer to the segment on lymphoma. There are many symptoms that one may have when diagnosed or developing lymphoma, these can vary depending on the disease stage and the specifics of your particular lymphoma. Most types of Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma will occur in older adults. Some of the symptoms you may have with lymphoma will include unexplained weight loss, fatigue, chills, and fevers at nighttime and usually you will have swollen lymph nodes particularly in the neck. Treatment varies depending upon the particular kind of lymphoma that you have; usually it involves radiation treatment, chemotherapy, and sometimes surgery as well. What can you do to prevent lymphoma? Well, it is difficult to prevent it all the time but there are certain factors such as maintaining a healthy diet and healthy lifestyle and avoiding environmental toxins that can go a long way in preventing lymphoma.
