JACKIE SILVER: I'm Jackie Silver with how to use castor oil for hair loss. The average adult has around a hundred thousand hairs, each strand with a lifespan of four or five years. Hair grows at the rate of about half an inch a month; and six months after the hair falls out, it's replaced by a new one. As we age, though, not every hair gets replaced. It's normal to shed 50 to 80 strands of hair a day; and interestingly, hair tends to fall out more in the morning though nobody knows why. The longer the hair, the less it falls out according to researchers. Castor oil has been shown to help with hair loss. To use castor oil for hair loss, part the hair into small sections and clip the sections up if you have long hair. Saturate a cotton ball with the castor oil and apply it to the scalp but don't run it through your hair. Using your fingers, massage the oil into your scalp. Wrap the hair in a towel and leave it on overnight. You may want to use some old bed linen so that you don't stain them. Wash the castor oil out completely the next morning. Try this once a week. You should start seeing results in about six weeks. Remember when using castor oil for hair loss, massage it into the scalp but try to avoid saturating your hair with it or it may be difficult to wash out.
