DR. CORAL ARVON: Hi. My name is Dr. Coral Arvon. I'm a licensed clinical psychotherapist with Arvon & Associates and counseling in Aventura, Florida. In this clip, we're going to talk about how to breath deeply to reduce stress. Breathing is very important. We do it every day but we don't recognize the benefits of breathing. What I do when I feel stressful or when I want to meditate a little bit, I take a few breaths and I will show you what I do in a second, but first you're going to breathe in and when you breathe in, you're going to be breathing in all fresh air. You're going to be breathing in life. You can hold it and breathing out through your mouth, you'll be letting out your anxiety, and it'll come out your shoulders down to your fingers and through your whole body. And you will want to hear your breath because that's self-meditating too. Let me show you what I'm talking about. You breathe in through your nose like such, then you let it out then you lose into the quiet and you just sit. If you do that, it'll help you feel rejuvenated. You'll feel brand new. It helps with stress. It helps with physical conditions. It helps with your ability to get along with people, just taking those breaths during the day. And once in a while, if you don't have time, you can always do one of those old anxiety sighs "Phew" and that helps you feel better too. Just remember, be really aware of your breathing and feel it. Do it every day.
