UNIQUE ANDERSON: Hello. My name is Unique Anderson and I'm a certified personal trainer. All right. So today, we're going to be talking about posting up. Now, again when we were talking about the center and the power forward and the small forward, the main thing that you want to do when someone is posting up--I'm playing the point guard right now, but they want to focus on three seconds. If he doesn't have the positioning, he's going to dish that ball right back out to me and he's going to reposition himself. Posting up is all about keeping your center of gravity low to the ground and using your gluteus maximus for movement. Use the booty. That's what you need to use to get movement on a post-up. So now I'm coming down and he's going to set up to have his position when he steps up to the ball, posting it up. They're playing kind of heavy down there, and you go and do that jump shot. Or, give it back, I could come to the opposite direction. And if he doesn't see the shot, dish it back out, dish it back in to get a better position. It's all about getting your positioning and getting the right movement to happen when you're playing ball. Because the thing is you're on offense, your main key is those big guys down there. It's not all about the point guard and the shooting guard. It's all about trying to make the whole team work together. Again, one thing we can do as well is if I come down and he's posting up, I could dish it off there, just depending on if there was defense there. If there was defense there, then of course that pass wouldn't be the best. But there's so many ways that you can use your big men down low.
