Jordan Vincent discusses what it feels like to live with brain cancer at such a young age.
My name is Jordan [PH] Vincent and I am taking chemo and I have cancer. One time in the school, I threw-up so I went to the office in the special nurse room and I kept throwing-up. When I took some of my medicine, I kept throwing-up that's why they--that's how I knew something was wrong with my body. They were bad headaches and I couldn't control them at all. Even if took Tylenol, they don't work. Well, I just--was a little frightened when they told me sometimes--and one time when I'm--I just got a little scared when my daddy and mommy was there holding my hand for a little bit and lots of people were scared. I always have to go to chemo on Monday at Children's Hospital. They did lots of operations on me to find out--that's why I got my tummy and head opened. That's the place where they did it. One time when I was in there, they put a tube so I could--they just could put the food inside me so I didn't have to move my hand at all. I couldn't move my muscles and they helped me eat my food. They put something under my nose so I could get it into my mouth. My grandma, my daddy and mom were there. My grandpa was there, even my brother. They were worried about me when I went to the emergency room until they got the news, they were okay. When they got the news, they felt much better. And my auntie Lisa gave me--she was just like, "Give her the biggest teddy ever." She gave a giant teddy bear. Well, everyday, I have to take medicine every morning and every night. I worked myself out of the wheelchair; and when I was done with the wheelchair, I got myself out that wheelchair and one time I got myself, my legs to work more stronger and now I don't have to use the walker anymore. I just know--just I never should give up. One of my dreams is to be the best figure skater ever. I would say the same thing I would say to my mom, "You worry too much." I would make sure you could just take action, but just like me, I don't just take action but I wrestle it too.
