Hi, my name is Joe Ann Ganci, and I'm demonstrating a shave. This is hot lather which softens the hair in the skin and allows you to get a deeper shave. And when I'm done, I'll do a back shave which we'll get the hair that grows in different directions, but the lather will soften everything up so the hair will come off smoothly. And this is going with the grain. So I'll take everything with this, and then I go back against it. This is a straight razor I'm using, so it gets a clean edge if you're outlining. And then you constantly rinse your razor and feel around, so you know that you still got some rough edges where there at. And constantly put water on. You never want to give a dry shave or you'll end up with a burn on your skin. Then you can go back with a wet shave. You can go back against the grain. And then to close up the pores, we put astringent on it. And then this will close up all the open pores. A few things to keep in mind, have plenty of lather, keep the face moist all the time, do go with the grain and then against the grain, and cold water at the end.
