Hi my name is Adrian Heath. I'm the head coach of the Austin Aztex, and now we're going to go through the basics of dribbling a football. Dribbling is one of the most important parts of the game and certainly one of the biggest fun parts of the game. Off we go, [PH] Carlos. If you just look at Carlos now, he'll go through the basic principles of dribbling the ball. Notice he's keeping in touch with the ball all the time. He's not leaning too far away from it. Inside and outside of the foot on both sides. Plenty of touches. Keeping your eye on the ball. Now can we get ahead of, fellows, so we can look where we're running to? Yeah, so look where we're running. Inside and outside of the ball; inside and outside of the touch. There you go. He's demonstrating there. It's very, very simple. Now if we could go a little bit quicker, fellows, so you're not--there you go. And now obviously, as you get better and better and the more you practice, you can then start to go quicker and quicker. So you can start doing a little bit of change of direction for me. Where is it, Carlos, now? So you're going this way, and you're turning around and going the other way. We'll use this demonstration to go around people and to go up to people and go around them. A little step over there. You can come up with little tricks if you want, like a little step over there. Good. You see the basics of dribbling, dribbling the football. Well done. Notice you're always in control of the ball. The ball is never too far away from the foot, and they always know what they're going to be doing with it. Good. That's a step-over. We'll go through the elements of a step-over now, so you can't fool me. So you're taking your foot across the top of the ball to maybe make the defender go the wrong direction. Do it nice and slow for me this time, Carlos, so people at home can look. There you go. Put your foot over the ball. It looks to go that way and takes it back the other way. And again please, [PH] Esi. And that's the double step-over and that takes--hopefully takes defenders the wrong way. And now, we'll demonstrate. So if you go in the middle, [PH] Wes, for me, and if you just buy the dummy that you've given a step-over and go the other way. So what we're trying to do is get the defender going the wrong way. There you go. And again, if you bring it through, Esi, so the defender goes the wrong way. Very good. And again, it's important to watch the ball all the time. Good. And that is the art of dribbling.
