The trigger point he is showing is for the infraspinatus. But, the area he is showing on the poster for the referred pain was for the subscapulris. The palpation of the subscapularis is in the armpit, because the sunscapulraris is on the anterior side of the scapula. The referral area for the infraspinatus is the blue area on the chart.

DR. CHRIS MANGO: Hi. This is Dr. Chris Mango here in New York City. On behalf of Expert Village, we're going to be taking a look at trigger points today. The next muscle we're going to be taking a look at is infraspinatus. This is the second most commonly injured muscle in the shoulder. This muscle is responsible for external rotation. Here's the muscle here. It's located just below the muscle we looked at before, the supraspinatus. Here are the two main trigger points. And as you can see, represented by this, it comes all the way in the armpit and down in front of the arm and then back into the almost the wrist area if this muscle gets injured. Now, I'm going to show you how to find the muscle and then to treat the trigger point. So as before, we're going to locate the scapula which is here, then we're going to want to look for the ridge. Last time, we went up; this time, we go below. This is the infraspinatus fossa. Now, to find the trigger point, you come through, press and hold the area here, here, and then here. Now let's move on to the next muscle in the shoulder.
