Some common questions that I often get asked about teething are, "What are common signs of teething?" and, "How do I manage them?" Babies usually start drooling at around three months of age, and a lot of parents think that this is a sign of teething. And while it can be, babies developed mentally start to drool more at three months of age because their saliva glands start to increase in production. And because they haven't been able to learn how to swallow that saliva yet, it just comes out of their mouth. So one thing that I suggest is to use a burp cloth frequently, and constantly wipe their face. You just want to wipe the drool off their chin and underneath their mouth and this helps keep their clothing dry and helps to prevent the development of a rash. Because what happens when babies are drooling so much is that the front of their clothes get totally soaked, and as the clothes get soaked, so does their skin. And they have a high propensity to develop rashes on their chin, their neck, and their chest. So you want to try and keep them as dry as possible. Another thing that you can use is a little drool bib, something that's small like this so it doesn't cover up their really cute little outfit and it's easy to take on and off. And I recommend having a few of these as well. It's really easy, just Velcro's off, open. You put it on the baby, Velcro on and you tuck it under their chin like this, and so when they drool, it just goes right here onto the bib. It keeps their clothes dry and let's their skin dry and will help reduce or prevent the development of a rash.
