Hi, my name is Sheryl McGlochlin with crazysheryl.com and on behalf of Expert Village I'm excited to show you how to snowshoe. Right now I want to talk to you about how to dress for snowshoeing. It is very important to have good clothing. There is saying that I have on my website there is no bad weather only bad clothing. That is my new website it sounded kind of fun and I want to show you how we like to do it. Actually you have to think like a onion. You have to dress in layers an they have to be thinner layers. Fred has on a just a nice vest. If he gets to warm he can go ahead and take that off. This layer is a nice thin layer. You want to stay away from cotton fabrics, stay with fabrics that move easily, that keeps the moisture out and if you go to a outdoor recreation place you can get a idea. But again these types of clothes you can buy even at a thrift shop. Oscar again has just a nice coat on. Go ahead and take that one off. He has 3 layer on and he has his coat and the fleece is a really popular kind of fabric to and being able to keep this nice fleece. Non of these fabrics is cotton and you want to stay away from demin levi's. As that would create a problem. I have a pair of snow pants on and if you have snow pants like this then you will not have to wear gators. We would talk about gators in a little bit later on also. A pair of pants I'm actually wearing a pair of long underwear just kind of a thin underneath my snow pants. Oscar has also a pair of thin long underwear, what would you say these are? Like a under Armour kind of pants underneath his regular pants. You don't need a lot of clothes you are working a lot and you really get warm so you don't need a lot of clothes to wear but you need to be able to peel off layers or put more layers on depending on how cold or how warm it is. That is how you can start to dress for snowshoeing.
